On initial testing, the retracting tapes performed well. And, the included spares are enough to keep a set of each in two different locations for versatility while being equivalent enough in length to, alternatively, enable distributing all four of them to different locations.The standalone (pink and white) measuring tapes both end at 150 cm on one side and 60 inches (5 feet) on the other. The retractable tapes can, similarly, be pulled out to 150 cm on one side and 59.5 inches on the other (not quite reaching 60 visible inches).Both sides of the retracting tapes start at 0, and both have plenty of empty space before the first marker for accurate reading. However, the zero markers on the standalone tapes are covered by end caps that, for mine, are slightly rotated. This is probably fine, though, as these tapes are better suited for loose body measurement anyway. And, for that use case, having an end cap at the zero mark may be more important for ease of reading. If I could make one change, it would be to give one of the standalone tapes a bit of blank space before the zero mark, adding extra versatility to the pack in the form of options. There is, however, plenty of blank space for holding on either side of the standalone tapes toward their opposite ends.Starting from around the 1 inch mark, the retractable tapes ratchet into place with a click every ~2.5 inches, holding them in place when released. The ratchet lock is disengaged via a button on one side, which allows the tape to quite forcefully retract on its own. The button can be held while pulling the tape out to prevent the clicking sounds that otherwise result from ratcheting.Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this pack.O just opened it and I am pleased with them. They are inexpensive and work. If I wanna be picky, I would say they have a couple ink stains but not in the numbers, so it doesn't bother me. I like how they feel in my hand. Not like plastic, more like rubber, so they have a good grip. You can see the numbers easily, specially in the white and pink ones. The black ones are smaller, but the contrast is good.The black ones retract when you press the button. They work good for now. They measure 150 cm or 60 inches. In the normal ones there is room leftover at the end without numbers. In the retractile ones you can see the numbers 60 only if you force it a little, bit it wount stay unless you are holding it. Anyways it is just a tiny bit. (See picture).It is gonna work good for measuring myself to get a belt and probably more things online.Overall, for the price is a good deal, because you get 4 of them. 2I never thought I’d be writing a review for measuring tapes but this deserves it. I can’t believe how inexpensive they are! The pink and white ones feel like they’re silicone or something equally flexible and durable. It was a nice surprise as I hadn’t read the whole description. They’re going to be much more durable than fabric and they won’t fray on the edges. The ones that are retractable are easy to read and I love that they lock automatically. I wondered why they came as two sets of tapes but now I know one reason. I keep one set in my bedroom to measure for ordering clothes and things online. The other set I keep in my kitchen for all other uses. So convenient and very easy to use!!!Four for the price of one. Two are retractable. Great deal.It was wonderful to get the traditional measuring tapes but I really wanted the self-retracting tapes. I wanted one for my sewing box and one for my paracord weaving tool pouch. No, they are not the most durable construction grade tapes, but treated gently they will last for a good while. Here is the reason I love them: The narrow tape is highly flexible, like a cloth tape measure, not ridged like a metal one. This means I pull out what I need, the reel automatically holds it there, I measure, and then push the retract button. When I am measuring cloth or paracord I have no desire to wrestle with a metal tape, even a thin one. These are perfect. AND light weight in the pouch. I really like them and would/will order them again in the future.Good quality .Exactly what was advertised & easy to use.Use tape mostly to measure for crochet instead of counting chains so final result is more accurateQuality of both types measuring tapes are good, these will last a long time for daily usage.I bought this, it came with 4 rulers, all are good for measuring for suits
