How to choose right power supply? 1. The COB strip is around 10W/m, so for 5m (16.4FT) LED strip, it needs a 50W power supply. The power supply can be bigger (60W, 100W, 200W are all ok), but can't be smaller, if the power supp is too small, the led strip will flash during working. 2. Since there's voltage drop of the led strip, the real working power is much less than theoretical value. So it's ok that the power supply is a little smaller than the counted value. 3. Recommended power supply: 12V 16.4FT => 12V 5A adapter (or 12V 60W transformer) 24V 16.4FT => 24V 3A adapter (or 24V 60W transformer) Installation Diagram IMPORTANT NOTICE The COB LED strip CAN NOT be connected to AC110V directly, must add a DC 12V/24V power supply.The AC/DC transformer (power supply) and controller NOT included.The COB strip is dimmable, but need to add a suitable dimmer. Dimmer is NOT included.The COB strip is jointed by 19.6IN-length pieces, so there are some jointed pointes on the COB strip, it's normal.The actual power of the COB strip will be affected by the voltage drop. For example, the real using power of 16FT strip is around 30W, not 10W/mx5m= 50W (theoretical value). The calculation method of 50W is wrong, the voltage drop should be actually considered!Please make sure the installing surface is clean + dry + smooth, or the COB strip cannot be pasted stably.There will be Voltage Drop (the head of the led strip is brighter than the end) if the COB strip is too long. Installed this as ambient/accent lighting in my 1983 T3 Vanagon Westfalia.There's plenty if you just want to go down both sides of the interior, but it's about 450mm short to go all the way down both sides of the rear cabin and across the top of the rear hatch.I installed it on interior lip of the inverted "U" shape (where the hinges for the pop top attach) on the surface facing out. This gave imperceptibly less light as opposed to mounting it horizontally, facing down. This affords the added benefit of never looking at the light directly, which not only looks better but doesn't create a jarring effect to the eye.This essentially creates a nearly invisible light source and still lights up the rear cabin completely.I'm likely going to install an adjustable dimmer so that there's no glare in the rear view mirror while driving.I tested it and it stays illuminated down to 10.3v. At this level it creates a nice glow that still reaches the floor.Adheres very very well and feels very strong.I'll add photos/video, soon.Excellent value for the money!
